Giovanni Lamarca is a managing director with the firm. In this capacity, he serves as co-head of the firm’s Consumer Goods and Services Practice and as a member of the firm’s Sport Leadership and Chief Marketing Officers Practices.
As a consumer sector domain expert, Giovanni has developed relationships globally with prominent clients by providing vital solutions to talent management issues and organizational needs. Prior to joining RSR Partners, he worked for another global search firm in Europe, where he was responsible for its operations in Western Europe and subsequently its New York office.
Giovanni brings 25 years of global management experience in the consumer sector, where he has led cross-cultural teams, built brands, designed strategies, and developed organizational structures both locally and nationally. His began his career at KPMG and later acquired operational expertise in marketing, sports management, sales, and general management at Johnson & Johnson, The Coca-Cola Company, and JTI (Japan Tobacco International). This extensive international management knowledge, combined with executive search expertise, enables him to provide unique perspectives and craft world-class solutions to client needs.
Giovanni has been a guest speaker on global management and career development at the International Institute for Management Development (IMD) in Lausanne, Switzerland, as well as the Thunderbird School of Global Management in Glendale, Arizona. He has also authored papers on building a culturally diverse organization.
He was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and is a permanent U.S. resident with triple citizenship: Brazilian, Italian, and Swiss. He holds a master’s of international management from the Thunderbird School of Global Management and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro. He is fluent in English, Portuguese, Italian, Spanish, German, and French. Giovanni holds a Taekwondo black belt and has represented Brazil in international tournaments. He also enjoys golf and tennis and has run in some of the world’s best-known marathons. Giovanni, his wife Gabriela, and their four children live in Westwood, New Jersey.
