Gary Matus is a Managing Director and a member of the firm’s Consumer Practice and Financial Services Practice. He is also a senior member of the firm’s Board Recruiting and Corporate Governance Consulting Practice.
Previously, Mr. Matus was a Managing Partner of Egon Zehnder International and head of the Financial Services Practice. Prior to that, he was President, CEO and member of the Board of Iwerks Entertainment. Mr. Matus was with Bank of America for seventeen years and held a number of management positions including EVP & Chief Marketing Officer, where he was responsible for all corporate marketing, product management, brand management, the bank’s data management and ATM systems. Previous to that, Mr. Matus was the executive in charge of the bank’s Entertainment and Media Industries Group, where he managed a portfolio of over $6 billion. Mr. Matus began his career as a National Brands Product Manager with Colgate-Palmolive.
Mr. Matus serves on the Board of Trustees of Thunderbird School of Global Management, the Board of the Los Angeles YMCA, and is a member of the Board of Governor’s Council on Information Technology. Mr. Matus is a member of the Advisory Board of Lasair Capital.
Mr. Matus graduated from California State University and received his MBA degree from Thunderbird School of Global Management. He also completed the Director Education & Certification Program from the UCLA Anderson School of Management.
